Knights veterans Dane Gagai and Tyson Frizell are set to remain in Newcastle with the club reportedly offering the pair one-year deals.
According to Code Sports, the Knights are reportedly keen to keep the experienced pair at the club.

Their options for 2026 have “elapsed”, according to the report, but Newcastle want them to stay “on the right terms”, the report stated.
Gagai, 34, and Frizell, 33, are in the twilight of their careers, but have shown solid form in 2025.
Gagai was one of the Knights’ better players against the Storm in Round 19, having moved to fullback to replace injured pair Kalyn Ponga and Fletcher Sharpe.
Such is Gagai’s popularity with Knights supporters, Newcastle fans began a petition to keep Gagai at the club.
Frizell has featured in 16 games in 2025, and has performed well, having shifted into the front row over the last couple of months.
BRAILEY SET TO BE A SHARK FOR LIFE
Meanwhile, the Sharks have made moves to lock down hooker Blayke Brailey for the remainder of his career.
Brailey is off contract with the Sharks at the end of 2026, with Cronulla reportedly keen on a four-year extension for the 26-year-old, which would take him through until the 2030 season.
The Sharks will be keen for Brailey to put pen to paper before November 1 this year, when he would become a free agent.
Brailey has played 154 NRL games for the Sharks, making him the longest-serving hooker in the club’s 58-year history.
