Depleted Dolphins dealt another blow as Felise Kaufusi faces ban for ugly high shot

The Dolphins’ already thin forwards stocks are set to be tested even further, with veteran Felise Kaufusi facing at least two weeks on the sideline for a late hit during Saturday’s win over the Cowboys.

FOX LEAGUE, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every game of every round in the 2025 NRL Telstra Premiership, LIVE with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Get your first month for just $1. Limited-time offer.

Kaufusi was sent to the sin bin after flying out of the line to put pressure on Cowboys playmaker Tom Duffy, only to mistime his attempt and hit the 21-year-old flush on the head.

The NRL’s match review committee charged the Dolphins front rower with grade three dangerous contact, meaning he will miss two games even if he takes the early guilty plea.

Should Kaufusi fight the charge and be unsuccessful, that ban will extend to three weeks.

It is the last thing the Dolphins need, even if they are flying on the back of three-straight wins, with Tom Flegler, Max Plath, Tom Gilbert and Daniel Saifiti all unavailable through injury.

Although the Dolphins have continually proven themselves capable of handling adversity since entering the league and even scored two tries against the Cowboys with Kaufusi in the bin.
