The man making his money celebration famous, Christian Tuipulotu, returns from a hamstring injury as Corey Allan drops out. Emre Guler (shoulder) is a chance to play his first game since Round 9 and has been named 18th Man.

SATURDAY

Gold Coast Titans vs Melbourne Storm, 3pm AEST at Cbus Super Stadium

Titans team: 1. Jaylan De Groot 2. Alofiana Khan-Pereira 3. Brian Kelly 4. Jojo Fifita 5. Phillip Sami 6. AJ Brimson 7. Jayden Campbell 8. Moeaki Fotuaika 9. Sam Verrills 10. Josh Patston 21. Tom Weaver 22. Sean Mullany 23. Allan Fitzgibbon

Analysis: Des Hasler has made changes again following his side’s latest loss. Veteran five-eighth Kieran Foran has been dropped to the bench AJ Brimson shifts into the halves alongside Jayden Campbell and Jaylan de Groot returns at fullback. Hasler’s decision to shift Foran to the pine shapes as a peculiar one given the impact he had in his return game. The veteran playmaker slotted in at five-eighth, with Brimson moving to fullback in what looked to be a dangerous spine against the Raiders. Despite losing 40-24, their attack looked to have improved and Foran was front and centre in their early scoring opportunities, putting Brimson through a hole only four minutes into the contest. Speaking in his post-match press conference, Hasler praised the veteran playmaker and indicated it was always his plan to make his pre-game switches. “He’s the sort of player, he’s got enough experience. He’s the sort of player you want, there’s no point bringing him off the bench,” Hasler said, which makes this week’s team selections all the more confusing. The Titans could once again make changes to their spine an hour before kick off, but it remains to be seen the direction Hasler is hoping to take his spine. Skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui also said it was positive for his side to have Foran in the run-on team. “It was good to see him back out there, he had a long stint on the sideline but just his experience with his ball playing,” he said. “His intent with the way he tackles it was good to have him out there but I wish we could have got the win for him coming back.” Elsewhere, Brian Kelly comes in at centre for Tony Francis, while Maroons forwards Beau Fermor and Tino Fa’asuamaleaui have been named to back up. Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui (concussion) is a chance to return and has been named on the extended bench.

Storm team: 1. Ryan Papenhuyzen 2. Sualauvi Faalogo 3. Grant Anderson 4. Nick Meaney 5. Xavier Coates 6. Cameron Munster 7. Jahrome Hughes 8. Stefano Utoikamanu 9. Harry Grant 10. Josh King 11. Shawn Blore 12. Eliesa Katoa 13. Trent Loiero 14. Tyran Wishart 15. Nelson Asofa-Solomona 16. Tui Kamikamica 17. Bronson Garlick 18. Joe Chan 19. Jack Howarth 20. Keagan Russell-Smith 21. Kane Bradley 22. Lazarus Vaalepu 23. Marion Seve 24. Ativalu Lisati

Analysis: Maroons stars Harry Grant, Cameron Munster, Xavier Coates and Trent Loiero have been named but hooker Bronson Garlick has come into the 17 to give Grant a spell if he plays. Centre Jack Howarth (shoulder) could return if Coates gets rested and has been named on the extended bench.

North Queensland Cowboys vs Wests Tigers, 5.30pm AEST at Queensland Country Bank Stadium

Cowboys team: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Robert Derby 3. Zac Laybutt 4. Viliami Vailea 5. Jaxson Paulo 6. Jaxon Purdue 7. Tom Dearden 8. Jordan McLean 9. Reece Robson 10. Sam McIntyre 11. John Bateman 12. Jeremiah Nanai 13. Reuben Cotter 14. Harrison Edwards 15. Kai O’Donnell 16. Griffin Neame 17. Coen Hess 18. Jake Clifford 19. Thomas Duffy 20. Karl Lawton 21. Thomas Mikaele 22. Braidon Burns 23. Kaiden Lahrs 24. Jamal Shibasaki

Analysis: Queensland trio Tom Dearden, Jeremiah Nanai and Reuben Cotter have all been named to start if they get through Origin unscathed. Jaxson Paulo replaces Murray Taulagi (calf) on the wing. Cotter missed the Cowboys’ last game and has been named at lock which shifts Sam McIntyre to prop and Coen Hess to the bench as Thomas Mikaele drops out.

Tigers team: 1. Jahream Bula 2. Sunia Turuva 3. Adam Doueihi 4. Starford To’a 5. Charlie Staines 6. Heath Mason 7. Jarome Luai 8. Terrell May 9. Apisai Koroisau 10. Royce Hunt 11. Samuela Fainu 12. Alex Seyfarth 13. Alex Twal 14. Brent Naden 15. Jack Bird 16. Sione Fainu 17. Tony Sukkar 18. Tristan Hope 19. Luke Laulilii 20. Charlie Murray 21. Kit Laulilii 22. Tallyn Da Silva

Analysis: Lachlan Galvin has almost certainly played his last game for the Wests Tigers with the club making the decision not to select him in any grade. The 19-year-old wantaway who is expected to sign with the Bulldogs imminently has also been excused from training commitments this week. The Tigers released a statement on Tuesday confirming he has been been relieved of playing duties. “Wests Tigers have made a decision to not select Lachlan Galvin in any grade. He has also been excused from training commitments this week,” the statement read. Heath Mason replaces him in the only change to the side that lost to the Rabbitohs before the bye, having previously only featured at fullback and off the bench. The 19-year-old gets a big chance to showcase his skills, however it looms likely that Latu Fainu will be handed the reins in the No.6 long term. The young gun is battling a hamstring injury and it expected to return to first grade in Round 14 alongside Jeral Skelton. Previously, star halfback Jarome Luai has revealed he has a high opinion of the 19-year-old. “He’s going to be a really good player and he’s going to have a big career in the NRL,” Luai said. “I think they’re both (Lachlan Galvin and Latu Fainu) the same age or around about that but they’re two different players. “They’ve got their own strengths, and they’re going to be scary playmakers for the future ahead.” Meanwhile, Fainu has also indicated he believes he is ready to become Luai’s halves partner. “100 per cent. If [Galvin] is not there, I’m ready,” Fainu said to the SMH. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make this team better. For me, if it means getting that six role, I’m all in.“When I first came to Wests Tigers, they brought me to play in the halves. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. That’s the position I’ve been playing my whole career, since I started playing footy. I feel most comfortable there, I feel I can add more value to the team as a half.”

Manly Sea Eagles vs Brisbane Broncos, 7.35pm AEST at 4 Pines Park

Sea Eagles team: 1. Lehi Hopoate 2. Jason Saab 3. Tolutau Koula 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Tommy Talau 6. Luke Brooks 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 8. Ethan Bullemor 9. Jake Simpkin 10. Josh Aloiai 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Ben Trbojevic 13. Jazz Tevaga 14. Lachlan Croker 15. Corey Waddell 16. Nathan Brown 17. Matthew Lodge 18. Clayton Faulalo 19. Jakob Arthur 20. Michael Chee Kam 21. Toafofoa Sipley 22. Caleb Navale

Analysis: Tom Trbojevic has been sidelined with a corked thigh in a huge blow for Anthony Seibold. Lehi Hopoate takes his place at fullback, with Tommy Talau filling the vacant wing spot. That horror blows comes after the superstar was left out of Laurie Daley’s Origin squad, with the Blues coach questioning his fitness in the lead-up to Round 12. “Everyone agrees Tom, if he’s fit, is one of the best players in the game, so that was a tough decision,” he said. “We’re comfortable with everyone we’ve selected in the outside backs. Tom needs to go back and play some good football and be confident. “I have no doubt Tom will be back in this arena at some point, but it’s always a tough decision.” Trbojevic was then named in Round 13 and interestingly played without the any strapping on his leg. However, Manly revealed on a statement on Tuesday that he had succumb to a cork in his thigh. “Trbojevic has been playing with a corked thigh in recent weeks and aggravated the injury in last Friday’s loss to the Eels. The club is taking a conservative approach and will rest their star fullback this weekend,” the statement read. Considering he is now unfit to take the field, Daley’s decision to leave Trbojevic out of the Blues squad looks to be proven correct. Elsewhere, Jake Trbojevic has also been omitted for a further week after his second head knock this season, while Siosiua Taukeiaho is out with a calf injury. In a timely boost, both Josh Aloiai (shoulder) and Ben Trbojevic (illness) have been named to return while Daly Cherry-Evans will also back up in the No.7, which sees Jake Arthur drop out of the 17.

Broncos team:1. Jesse Arthars 2. Selwyn Cobbo 3. Kotoni Staggs 4. Gehamat Shibasaki 5. Deine Mariner 6. Ezra Mam 7. Adam Reynolds 8. Patrick Carrigan 9. Cory Paix 10. Payne Haas 11. Xavier Willison 12. Jordan Riki 13. Kobe Hetherington 14. Billy Walters 15. Corey Jensen 16. Brendan Piakura 17. Benjamin Te Kura 18. Tyson Smoothy 19. Josiah Karapani 20. Blake Mozer 21. Jaiyden Hunt 22. Fletcher Baker 23. Va’a Semu

Analysis: No sign of superstar fullback Reece Walsh who was scheduled to return from a knee injury this week and the man who had been replacing him, Selwyn Cobbo, has lost the No. 1 jersey. Under-pressure Broncos coach Michael Maguire has instead gone with Jesse Arthars at fullback. Brisbane have lost five of their last six games and Cobbo, who has been named on the wing, has played fullback in their past four (three wins, one loss). Some had touted Cobbo’s stint as Walsh’s replacement as an opportunity for the off-contract former Maroons player to show rival clubs he’s worth signing as a $1 million fullback. Suffice to say that won’t be happening anytime soon. Arthars has never played fullback in his 91-game NRL career but he’s impressed on the wing this season, scoring 11 tries in 11 games, and there was talk he was on the brink of Queensland selection earlier this month. Speaking of Origin, both Pat Carrigan and Payne Haas have been named to play assuming they get through the series opener unscathed, while the tallest man in the NRL, Ben Te Kura, has replaced Fletcher Baker on the bench.

Analysis: Liam Le Blanc drops out in the only change for the Rabbitohs, with Sean Keppie taking his place. Superstar fullback Latrell Mitchell has been named and will back up if he gets through the Origin series opener.

Warriors team: 1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 3. Adam Pompey 4. Rocco Berry 5. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 6. Chanel Harris-Tavita 7. Luke Metcalf 8. James Fisher-Harris 9. Tanah Boyd 22. Tanner Stowers-Smith 23. Taine Tuaupiki

Analysis: Captain James Fisher-Harris has served his suspension and will slot back into the front row, Rocco Berry has overcome a hamstring issue to slot back into the centres, while Mitch Barnett will back up after Origin. Jacob Laban drops to 18th man and Leka Halasima has been named on the pine.

Penrith Panthers vs Parramatta Eels, 4.05pm AEST at CommBank Stadium

Panthers team: 1. Dylan Edwards 2. Thomas Jenkins 3. Izack Tago 4. Casey McLean 5. Brian To’o 6. Blaize Talagi 7. Nathan Cleary 8. Moses Leota 9. Mitch Kenny 10. Lindsay Smith 11. Scott Sorensen 12. Liam Martin 13. Isaah Yeo 14. Luke Sommerton 15. Matt Eisenhuth 16. Luron Patea 17. Harrison Hassett 18. Brad Schneider 19. Riley Wake 20. Preston Riki 21. Daine Laurie 22. Jack Cole 23. Paul Alamoti 24. Austin Dias

Analysis: Dylan Edwards, Brian To’o, Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo and Liam Martin have all been named to back up from Origin and their returns will be depending on their fitness after the Origin series opener. Scott Sorensen has also served his suspension, with Izack Tago moving back to the centres. In a shock move, Paul Alamoti has been dropped from the backline with Daine Laurie and Brad Schneider also squeezed out. Harrison Hassett, after scoring on debut, has kept his spot on the bench.

Eels team: 1. Isaiah Iongi 2. Zac Lomax 3. Sean Russell 4. Jordan Samrani 5. Josh Addo-Carr 6. Dylan Brown 7. Mitchell Moses 8. Jack Williams 9. Ryley Smith 10. Junior Paulo 11. Kelma Tuilagi 12. Kitione Kautoga 13. J’maine Hopgood 14. Dylan Walker 15. Luca Moretti 16. Ryan Matterson 17. Joash Papali’i 18. Matt Doorey 19. Joey Lussick 20. Toni Mataele 21. Dean Hawkins 22. Samuel Loizou

Analysis: Mitchell Moses and Zac Lomax have been named to back up from Origin duty. With Moses returning, Dean Hawkins loses his place in the side after an impressive Round 12 display. Will Penisini has also been ruled out due to a head knock which sees Jordan Samrani take his place in the centres. After a solid debut, Joash Papalii has been retained on the bench.

Sydney Roosters vs Canberra Raiders, 6.15pm AEST at Allianz Stadium

Roosters team: 1. James Tedesco 2. Daniel Tupou 3. Billy Smith 4. Robert Toia 5. Mark Nawaqanitawase 6. Sandon Smith 7. Hugo Savala 8. Lindsay Collins 9. Connor Watson 10. Spencer Leniu 11. Angus Crichton 12. Siua Wong 13. Victor Radley 14. Zach Dockar-Clay 15. Salesi Foketi 16. Blake Steep 17. Egan Butcher 18. Dominic Young 19. Taylor Losalu 20. Benaiah Ioelu 21. Makahesi Makatoa 22. Xavier Va’a 23. Ethan King 24. Chad Townsend

Analysis: Lindsay Collins, Spencer Leniu, Connor Watson, Rob Toia and Angus Crichton have all been named to back up after being selected to feature in the Origin series opener. The Roosters have the longest possible turnaround, so if that group gets through Wednesday’s clash unscathed they will likely take the field. Salesi Foketi and Egan Butcher have been named on the bench, with Dom Young, Benaiah Ioelu and Makahesi Makatoa dropping to the extended reserves. The Roosters have been handed a big reprieve with their Round 13 clash being the last clash of the weekend. However, their bye schedule has left much to be desired considering they have the largest contingent of Origin players. The Tricolours play in every Origin-affected round this year and as such are the most heavily effected by the mid-year showcase. While the NRL cannot predict how many players are picked for both NSW and Queensland, it’s fair for the Roosters to feel hard done throughout the Origin period.

Raiders team:1. Kaeo Weekes 2. Savelio Tamale 3. Matthew Timoko 4. Sebastian Kris 5. Xavier Savage 6. Ethan Strange 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Corey Horsburgh 9. Owen Pattie 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Analysis: Owen Pattie replaces suspended hooker Tom Starling, marking his first appearance in the starting side. Simi Sasagi drops to the bench with Hudson Young named to back up after Wednesday’s Origin duties. Noah Martin is the man to drop off the bench, with Danny Levi named as a utility to help Pattie with dummy-half duties.

Bye: Bulldogs, Dolphins, Sharks
